Knowing the energy of coffee.
Team Shantai is characterized by being lovers of Pachamama, of natural medicine, of metaphysics, of humanity and of course, lovers of delicious coffee.
We tend to constantly travel to different places full of energy to meditate and share that energetic abundance.. It is on one of those trips that we arrived in Cusco, connecting for the first time with the Spirit of Coffee. Its special aroma, its authentic and pure flavor, and excellent body, He conquered us immediately.
It wouldn't be until 2023, that Eugenio and the team would be encouraged to create this beautiful project, and work hand in hand only with Cuzco coffee.

Getting started with the Spirit of Coffee
It's September 2023 and again we are in Cuzco, this time with the idea of learning more about the area's specialty coffee, however, not with that single task.
We spent the morning meditating, and we decided to go out to town for food. That is where by “chance” we met Pablo, director of a Specialty Coffee Association in the area, with whom there was an immediate and innate connection.
It's thanks to Pablo, that we get to know the most beautiful farms, try the most delicious coffees and enter specialty coffee tastings that took place those days in the town.
The connection with the local people was such., which is right there where the entire team unanimously decides to embark on this new, exciting and wonderful project, which months later would be known as “Shantai Coffee”.

Shantai Coffee still retains its excellent properties that characterize its Bourbon and Geisha varieties., introduced in Peru more than two centuries ago. These varieties are perfectly adapted to the climatic conditions and the richness of the soil that the Cuzco Valley offers them., thus guaranteeing its special aroma, its authentic and pure flavor, excellent body and very high cup score, that make Shantai Coffe a unique experience.
Shantai Coffee is born in farms located between 1800 y 2200 meters above sea level. It is harvested by hand by coffee growers., at its exact point of ripeness. During the double fermentation process, Both the pulp and the mucilage play an important role so that the flavor and life of the seed embryo remain intact., thus achieving a spectacular flavor, without compromising the active properties of a true specialty coffee.
It is unique because it is cultivated with love, treated with respect and honoring Mother Earth.

Recent scientific studies carried out by universities and schools of forestry and environmental engineering in Peru evaluated the impact of soil characteristics and altitude on the agroforestry systems of the high jungle of Cusco., demonstrating that at higher altitudes acidity and magnesium increase, while phosphorus levels, soccer, Potassium and caffeine decrease.
These studies confirm that altitude improves the sensory attributes of coffee such as sweetness, the balance, the aroma and flavor. Thus demonstrating the high organoleptic and nutritional quality of Shantai Coffee, grown only in the Cuzco Valley, area that is considered the heart chakra of the planet, which provides a higher energetic vibration to coffee. This is where the motto comes from: "Shantai Coffee, makes you sharp & tuned".

Pachama Lovers!
The connection that the Shantai Coffee team has with Pachamama goes beyond making this excellent Peruvian coffee known to the world., but also to contribute to the fair economic remuneration of the coffee farmers who put passion and love into each coffee crop., in addition to sharing the love and respect for the Jungle and the entire process that this project entails.
Fruit of this initial purpose, It can be said that we belong to the wonderful energetic connection between coffee, the coffee farmers, Pachamama and final consumers, closing a circle that honors a metaphysical truth: “We are all one”.
